Saving money on solar panel installation- removal of planning charges
PV Systems Managing Director, Bruce Cross is pleased about the removal of planning charges for installation of solar panels but says more needs to be done. The BBC recently interviewed Bruce to discuss how the removal of planning charges for solar panels and other micro-generating equipment for domestic use will make a difference to homeowners.
Bruce explains that it is a step in the right direction which is to be welcomed however he says a lot more needs to be done. “Many people are interested in lowering their carbon footprint but are not financially incentivised. The removal of planning charges will just reduce administrative delay, so it won’t actually make too much difference.”
When asked about the consistency of solar power as a reliable energy source he added “It is light that is being turned into electricity not necessarily direct sunlight so there will always be a base level which varies on the conditions; it can never be turned off.”
